12 Things We Like John O'Carroll Book Design Limited Edition T-Shirts Royal Cornwall Hospital Poster Summer Pickle Mailer			John O'Carroll Book Design Above is the book we completed for exceptional international artist, John O'Carroll. The project involved all of our creative team, below, Marie Lawley talks a little about the design that she and Emma developed, bringing John O'Carroll into the process as well. The book contained both a English and Dutch translation.
			“We worked with Padstow artist, John O'Carroll, to produce a book show casing a portfolio of his work from the last 10 years. We designed the book to present his work without distraction, on clean white pages with small delicate descriptions running along the bottom of the page. The chapter headings were a chance to insert some of John's personality onto the page by showing his handwriting from his sketchbooks explaining his work; this gives the book a very personal feel.				O'Carroll's work is vast, varying form his work reflecting the Cornish and Dutch landscape, and his archaeological experiences in Egypt. We let his work tell the story by using the chapter headings as introductions. The forewords, autobiography and references in both English and Dutch, were a chance to break the format of the book by presenting neat text in columns with small inset images. This created a perfect frame at the front and back of the book for his work to be displayed.			We thoroughly enjoyed working with John, admiring his work and enjoying hearing about his wealth of experiences. We hope this comes across to the reader through the way we have presented him and his work.” Marie Lawley
